Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains how Discenda handles personal information. Discenda is an iPhone app (and a web app) that driving schools use to run lessons, and that their pupils use to see their lessons, progress and messages.
Who we are
Discenda is provided by Graham Warwick, a sole trader trading as G Force Driving Academy, 21 Priddis Close, Exmouth, EX8 5PG, United Kingdom.

Who is responsible for your information
- If you're a pupil or instructor at a driving school that uses Discenda, your driving school decides what information it keeps about its pupils and lessons. For UK GDPR purposes the driving school is the controller of that information. Discenda (Graham Warwick trading as G Force Driving Academy) processes it on the school's behalf, under a data processing agreement with the school.
- For G Force Driving Academy's own pupils, G Force Driving Academy is the controller.
- If you contact us through this website, we are the controller of the enquiry details you send.
Information we handle
What we hold depends on how you use Discenda and what your driving school records.
Account information (instructors and pupils) - Name, email address, your driving school (school code) and your role (instructor or pupil). - Your password, stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. We can't see it. - Sign-in session records, so you stay logged in.
Pupil records kept by the driving school - Contact details such as phone number and pickup location or address. - Profile photo, if you or your instructor add one. - Lesson bookings and history, lesson status, check-ins and cancellation requests. - Lesson notes and next-lesson plans written by your instructor. - Progress records (skills covered and how you're getting on), practical test dates and results, including recorded faults. - Lesson credit and records of payments your school has noted. Discenda doesn't take payments in the app. - Your own lesson reflections, if you write them (what went well, what was difficult, confidence). - Acceptance of your driving school's terms and conditions. - Requests to delete your account.
Instructor records - Diary entries, saved locations, test routes, and teaching records such as standards check results the instructor chooses to keep.
Messages - Messages between pupils and instructors in the app, with when they were sent and read.
Location (instructors only) - The Discenda app asks instructors for location permission. Location is used only when an instructor chooses to record a lesson route or record a test route, and to centre Map Sketch on the instructor's current position when they tap My Location. - While a route is being recorded, the app saves location points (position, accuracy, speed, altitude and time) so the route can be replayed. Recording can continue in the background, with the iPhone's location indicator showing, until the instructor stops it. - The instructor can add notes at points on a lesson route. The pupil on that lesson can see the route and notes in their app. - The pupil app does not ask for or collect your location. Pupils only see routes their instructor recorded during their lessons.
Notifications - If you allow notifications, we store a device notification token so we can send lesson reminders, check-in requests, messages and other school updates. Apple delivers these notifications. If the web app is used with browser notifications, a browser push subscription is stored instead.
Emails - We send emails such as password reset codes and lesson-related messages, and keep a simple log of emails sent (recipient, subject, whether it was delivered).
Enquiries - If you get in touch through discenda.co.uk, the website opens your own email app to send us an email at discenda@outlook.com. We receive whatever you include in that email.
Calendar feed - Instructors can create a private calendar link so their diary appears in their calendar app. Anyone with that link can see the diary, so it should be kept private. It can be turned off in the app.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no tracking you across other apps or websites.
- No selling of your information.
- No analytics or advertising tools are built into the app.

Who we share information with
We only share information with service providers we need to run Discenda: - Hosting: our servers are hosted by IONOS (Fasthosts Internet Ltd) in the United Kingdom. - Email: app emails, such as password reset codes, are sent through Microsoft 365 (Office 365). - Apple: to deliver push notifications and, for pupils on route replays, to show Apple Maps. - Website hosting: discenda.co.uk is hosted by IONOS (Fasthosts Internet Ltd) in the United Kingdom. The website has no contact form, so no form provider is used: enquiries open your own email app and go to discenda@outlook.com.
Within a driving school, instructors can see their pupils' records. Pupils can see only their own lessons, progress, routes and messages.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Information outside the UK
Our servers and website are hosted in the United Kingdom. App emails are sent through Microsoft 365, and Microsoft may process that information outside the UK. Where it does, it uses its standard UK transfer safeguards. Emails you send to discenda@outlook.com are handled by Microsoft in the same way.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as it's needed to provide the service and run the driving-school relationship, to meet legal or accounting requirements, to resolve disputes, and to keep appropriate business records. Expired sign-in sessions are removed automatically. Password reset codes expire after 15 minutes. Database backups are kept for 30 days and then overwritten.
Pupil and lesson records are kept for 6 years after a pupil's last lesson, because accounting and legal records have to be kept that long. After that they are deleted.
Deleting your account
You can ask to delete your account in the app: go to More, then Delete my account.
When you do this, your login is switched off straight away and a deletion request is recorded. Your driving school will then deal with the request. Some lesson records may need to be kept by the school, for example for accounting, and the app tells you this when you ask. Deletion requests are handled within one month. Records that have to be kept are held only for the 6-year period above, and then deleted.
You can also ask for deletion by contacting your driving school or us at discenda@outlook.com.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: - ask for a copy of your information - ask us to correct it - ask us to delete it - object to or ask us to restrict how we use it - ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies.
Pupils can change their profile photo and password in the app. For anything else, contact your driving school or us at discenda@outlook.com. If your information is held by a driving school, we'll pass your request to them and help them deal with it.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Security
Accounts are protected by passwords, which are stored hashed. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited, and information travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Discenda is meant for learner drivers and their instructors. Pupils must be 16 or over.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
